Taiwanese Websites in UK

This is not meant to be a complete list and maybe you already know these, but if not...

Supermarkets

http://www.wingyip.com/

http://www.hoohing.com/

Both of these aren't strictly Taiwanese supermarkets, more Chinese supermarkets really - but you can still get Taiwanese food there.

And http://www.loonfung.com/ was also recommended. Apparently they are very large and popular supermarkets.

Restaurants

Leong's Legends - see http://www.london-eating.co.uk/34874.htm for reviews. It's in Soho - we've been there and really enjoyed the food. They don't only have Taiwanese food (I'm not even sure if it's Taiwanese owned).

I haven't been to any of the below restaurants:

http://www.taiwanvillage.com/

Formosa - see http://www.london-eating.co.uk/2668.htm for reviews

Keelung - see http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/restaurants/review-23706391-taiwan-in-a-tasty-nutshell-at-keelung.do for a review

http://www.alisan.co.uk/ in Wembley

Bakery

My wife has been told aabout a Taiwanese bakery in Golders Green called Old Tree -
but we haven't been there.

Embassy

http://www.taiwanembassy.org/uk/mp.asp?mp=132

Contact Miss Shan Lo - ocac@taiwanese.co.uk - and she will email you a newsletter with upcoming Taiwanese-related events.

General Taiwanese Website
http://www.hellouk.org/ - I think it was originally designed for Taiwanese students in the UK, but anyone can use it. Had a good forum.

Travel Agent

http://www.ourstravel.com/new/ - I've never used them but lots of Taiwanese seem to. At the time of writing they have flights with Eva Air to Taipei for £525 inc tax. (Someone told me that "OursTravel have cheap tickets but service is awful when things go wrong.")

If you know any more good websites please let me know!

David
