London Overseas Chinese School caters for all ages from 5 years old to adults. We teach various levels of Mandarin Chinese from beginners to GCSE and A-level. We provide Chinese language teaching for students whose family speak Mandarin or for students who are interested in learning another language.

Our school also offers an Adult Class for Mandarin topic teaching, suitable for travel, business, Chinese culture appreciation and daily usage. We can tailor special modules to suit individual needs to ensure rapid progress.

LOCS Fundraising Fair on Sunday June 12

Dear Parents and Students,

We are pleased to announce that our annual LOCS Fundraising Fair will take place on Sunday, June 12th at our school.

There will be three parts to the day.

1400 – 1500: Competitions
A. Read Chinese characters (the two lower Classes)
B. Chinese Calligraphy (all other Classes)
Please note that we have received very generous donations, so there will be prizes for these competitions.

1500 – 1530: School Performance
End of academic year school performance which will take place in the Big Hall.

1530 – 1630 Fundraising Fair
This will also take place in the Big Hall
For your enjoyment there will be:
· Food & drink
· Games
· A Raffle with some great prizes
· Toys, books, bric-a-brac for sale, etc.

However we also need your help to make this day a success!
· Parents to help with setting up the Big Hall from 2pm onwards
· Donations that we can use as part of our fundraising efforts e.g. 2nd hand books and toys, CDs, DVDs, computer games, wrapped sweets, bottles, vouchers, cash etc.
· Volunteers to make food and drink that we can sell on the day

There will be a Parents Meeting on June 5th at 2pm in the Parents Room to help get this fantastic event planned and organised!

Summer Term Dates & Parent-Teacher meetings

家長請於當天下午到貴子弟的教室依次與老師面談,時間如下:
  基礎班 及 初級班(一) 下午三時開始 
  其他班級 下午三時三十分開始

第三學期將於二零一一年五月八日開課。

Dear Parents and Carers

You are invited to attend our Consultation Meetings on 3rd April (last day of Spring Term). Parents and carers will meet with the class teacher(s) to discuss your child(ren)’s progress and future targets.

Appointments will be on a first come first serve basis. Meetings for Foundation Stage and Year 1 classes are from 3.00 pm. All other classes are from 3.30 pm.

Please be reminded that school will reopen on Sunday 8th May 2011 (please see term dates for Summer Term listed as above).

Bitish Museum Sunday 27th February

We have received the following message from the British Museum. If you are interested in getting tickets please contact Mr Huang:

"Dear Supplementary Schools

We are delighted to invite you to the Community Preview of Afghanistan: Crossroads of the Ancient World at the British Museum, on Sunday 27th February 2011. The exhibition preview will take place between 11 – 1pm, and all supplementary school groups who wish to bring students to view the exhibition are welcome.

The Community Preview is a ticketed event; tickets are limited and sent out on a first come first served basis. To book free tickets for your group please email qc.huang@virgin.net asap with the number of tickets you require.

Kite Making Activity – Great Court, 12 – 2pm
Take part in a creative kite making and decorating activity. Using traditional colours and Afghan patterns decorate your very own kite and explore the history and significance of this popular Afghani pastime."
